Mean and Nasty Jr and Sr. Mosca Sr., a star in Canada in the ring and gridiron with the Hamilton Ti Cats, was sucessful in Florida and the Mid Atlantic. Mosca Jr had moderate success in the Mid Atlantic and Canada before leaving the mat game.

Toronto's wrestling scene received coverage in the famous Apter family of magazines during the 70's and 80's.

AWA vs WWF






Before Vince McMahon changed the landscape of professional wrestling Toronto was home to some dream matches including this title vs title matchup. Nick Bockwinkel AWA kingpin vs WWF champion Bob Backlund. This match received coverage in major newspapers and magazines including this article from the Wrestler August 1979 Apter Magazine.

As the territories died, independent shows were few and far between promoting in Ontario was a tough go. Tony Atlas was the main attraction on this show but the card wasn't able to draw and ICW only held a couple of shows before disapearing from Ontario.

I never got to see a MLW show live but followed it through the Toronto Star. I was able to clip most of the match ads and results during the time JCP was finishing up with the Tunney's and Vince and Hulkamania were taking over T.O.
